Size: 3 inch diameter
Description:
The project directions for this piece are published in
the Spring '09 issue of Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarterly. The
project is a small pinkeep using two new threads developed for the
Plimoth Plantation Jacket Project - "A Paradise of Silk and Gold".
These threads are a gold thread with a silk core and a silk thread
wrapped with a thin gilt wire. The project uses detached buttonhole
and three goldwork stitches to allow those unfamiliar with 17th
century needlework to try something new in stitches and threads. Use
pins to sign your name around the perimeter.
Kit Contents:
The kit includes the linen, a tube of gilt sylke twist
and of gilt smooth passing #4, two tubes of Soie Gobelin, TIRE silk
thread, spangles, a #10 Handmade Japanese needle, standard embroidery
needles, Mokuba ribbon, silk finishing fabric, batt and skirtex.
Note that the directions are published in Spring '09 Sampler and
Antique Needlework and not included in the kit.
